Occupational Therapy Home Adaptations & Accessible Bathroom Solutions
Helping people safely carry out everyday occupations through thoughtful, accessible bathroom design.
Working in Partnership with Occupational Therapists
At Living Well Bathrooms, we understand that occupational therapy is about enabling people to do the things they need, want and value in their daily lives.
Everyday activities such as washing, bathing and using the toilet are essential occupations, fundamental not only to physical health, but also to dignity, independence and overall wellbeing.
When these activities become difficult due to illness, injury or changes in mobility, the impact goes far beyond the task itself. It can affect confidence, routine, identity and quality of life.
That’s where we work alongside Occupational Therapists helping to translate clinical recommendations into practical, real-world solutions within the home environment.
Creating Safer & More Accessible Home Environments
We share the same person-centred approach as Occupational Therapists; recognising that independence is shaped by the relationship between the individual, their daily activities and their environment.
Our role is to support recommendations by translating clinical insight and activity analysis into practical home adaptations that deliver safe, achievable functional outcomes.
While bathroom adaptations are often a key focus, we also provide a wider range of solutions, including accessible kitchens, access ramps and temporary shower solutions, helping to ensure the home environment fully supports safe participation in everyday occupations.
Whether it’s bathing independently, preparing meals, accessing the home or supporting assisted routines, every solution we deliver is designed to enable meaningful participation in daily life, while also supporting carers and long-term usability.
We support:
-
Occupational Therapists (NHS and private)
-
Community OT teams
-
Hospital discharge teams
-
Case managers
-
Physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists
-
Social workers and local authority adaptation teams
How We Support Your Practice
We aim to complement your assessment and recommendations with solutions that are practical, achievable and tailored to the individual.
Working Together to Support Meaningful Outcomes
We recognise that every recommendation forms part of a wider plan to support an individual’s health, wellbeing and ability to live independently at home.
That’s why we take a collaborative approach, ensuring every solution aligns with your assessment, works within the home environment, and supports both the individual and their carers.
Our goal is not simply to install a bathroom, ramp or kitchen, but to help achieve outcomes that truly matter, enabling people to carry out essential daily activities more safely, comfortably and confidently.
Through thoughtful adaptations, we help to:
- Maintain independence
- Support dignity and privacy
- Improve confidence and wellbeing
- Reduce reliance on carers where appropriate
